Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- Cooking spray or additional butter for greasing the pan
Instructions:
1. Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
2. Combine Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
3. Mix Batter:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. It's okay if there are a few lumps; overmixing can make the pancakes tough.
4. Preheat the Pan:
Heat a griddle or non-stick skillet over medium heat. If needed, lightly grease the surface with cooking spray or a small amount of butter.
5. Cook Pancakes:
Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot griddle for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancake and the edges start to look set. This usually takes about 2-3 minutes.
6. Flip and Cook the Other Side:
Once bubbles have formed and the edges are set, carefully flip the pancake with a spatula. Cook the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.
7. Repeat:
Continue with the remaining batter, adding more butter or cooking spray to the pan as needed.
8. Serve:
Serve the pancakes warm with your favorite toppings, such as maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or nuts.
Enjoy your delicious homemade pancakes!
